Accentuate is a Legacy Trust project created to deliver a wide range of arts, sport and heritage projects, as well as aiming to change people's attitudes towards those with disabilities in the 1,000 day run-up to the Paralympic Games, without clichéd references to ‘plucky individuals overcoming adversity'. Its broad aims include ensuring that every young disabled person in the south east - the birthplace of the Paralympic Games - has the opportunity to create, compete or collaborate with a young person in another competitor country in the run up to the 2012 event. Azalea provided PR and marketing support for the launch of Accentuate and created and organised the inaugural Disabled British Open, an Accentuate project, in 2009. |
