The prestigious Les Bordes estate in France is quite rightly hailed as one of the finest golf courses in Europe – in fact, it is regarded by many as among the best anywhere in the world.
Designed and opened in 1986 by Texan architect Robert Von Hagge, the course was created as the “Augusta of Europe” but it seems that Von Hagge even exceeded his own expectations. Set in the stunning Loire Valley, the course is as deadly as it is divine and with just 82 golfers having ever broken 80 off the back tees, it is justifiably considered one of the finest tests of golf on the planet.
The Azalea Group has worked with Les Bordes since the estate was bought by a group of international businessmen in March 2008. They soon announced plans to transform the original Les Bordes course it into an exclusive members club as well as bringing back Von Hagge to create another 36 holes on the estate to complement plans for a luxury hotel. Since then, Azalea has undertaken a PR campaign to ensure the Les Bordes name is immortalised in the minds of the world’s social and business elite. Through press trips with high-end luxury and finance publications and a sophisticated marketing approach, Les Bordes is now known, from Abu Dhabi to Moscow, as the number one destination for the discerning golfer. |
